East Indian Paani Ceremony photo shoot

East Indian Paani Ceremony

East Indians (Maharashtrian Catholics) conduct a ceremony called ‘umbrache paani’. In this ceremony all those attending go in a procession around their area singing and dancing to draw water from the well to be used by the bride-to-be or groom-to-be to bathe. Since there are no wells left in Mumbai, people go to one of their relative or friend’s house to bring water in a huge vessel. The groom-to-be is taken around the village under an umbrella and welcomed back home with sweets. Photo opportunities are multiple when we do a shoot for the East Indian Paani Ceremony. Do not miss booking photographer for this event. This ensures you can join in the fun.
